II Suiseki Exhibition in Spain - 16th to 18th October 2009 in Madrid

Dear all,

I would like to invite you to our II Suiseki Exhibition in Spain - 16th to 18th October 2009 in Madrid, organized by the Spanish Association of Suiseki (AES) and the Association of Alcobendas Bonsai.

The program of the exhibition will be:

• Day 16th October:

11:00. Inauguration by Mr. Smith and local authorities of Alcobendas.
12:00 to 14:00. Ratings and comments by Mr. Smith on the rocks exposed.
17:00 to 18:00. Conference of Ms. María Rosa Bonet at the auditorium of the Alcobendas Council. She is Honorary President of the Spanish Suiseki Association, and member of the European Suiseki Association and Nippon Suiseki Association.

• Day 17th October:

10:00 to 13:30. Workshop of daiza carving by Mr. Smith - 1st part.
16:00 to 18:30. Workshop of daiza carving by Mr. Smith – 2nd part.
21:00 to 23:00. Gala dinner chaired by Mr. Smith.

• Day 18th October:

11:00 to 13:00. Lecture-Colloquium by Mr. Rafael Monje, member of the Spanish Suiseki Association, European Suiseki Association and Nippon Suiseki Association. He is one of the oldest suiseki lovers and one of the masters in Spain.
16:00 to 17:00. Delivery of awards. Award of the Spanish Suiseki Association and Bonsai Association of Alcobendas. Delivery of diplomas and memorials.

During the contest it will available to buy books on suiseki, stones and other materials relating to the suiseki, often hard to reach or unknown in Spain.

If you have a collection of suiseki, or you are interested in this art, it would be a pleasure to have your presence at this event, as well as your participation in the exhibition with some of your suiseki.

We hope to personally welcome this unique opportunity to be part of the most important exhibition of the year in the art of suiseki in Spain.

Hi Jose... Thanks for photos (& descriptions!!!) of Spanish stones at the Meihinten (Tokyo) & for the the exhibition details (including a poster) of the October suiseki event in Madrid. With your effort, the world of stone enthusiasts grows closer.

Really want to attend, bring my Ying Rocks, and friends to enjoy good points, but I do not know foreign languages, and has never traveled outside China, which is a lot of obstacles!
