SUISEKI EXHIBITION AT 2014 US NATIONAL BONSAI EXHIBITION
This year the 2014 US National Bonsai Exhibition will also include an Invitational Suiseki Exhibition. Each suiseki will be formally displayed with an accessory and some with hanging scrolls. Suiseki from around the world will be on exhibit in the same room as the bonsai exhibition. If well received the suiseki exhibition will be expanded in 2016.
The 4th US National Bonsai Exhibition will be held on September 13-14, 2014 in Rochester, NY. In addition to over 200 quality bonsai and over 50 suiseki there will be the largest vending area in the country with over 40 vendors filling over 100 tables.
Continuous demonstrations on Chinese Brush Painting (Dr. Alice Chen), Ikebana Japanese Flower Arranging (Professor Jerome Cushman), Suiseki Japanese Viewing Stones (Sean Smith), Bonsai Creation (Hiroyoshi Yamaji) and Bonsai Refinement (Peter Warren) will be held daily.
Daily admission to the US National Bonsai Exhibition is $15 and a weekend pass is $20 if purchased before September 1st. All demonstrations, vending area, bonsai exhibition and suiseki exhibition are FREE with admission.
On Saturday evening, September 13 an Award Banquet and Benefit Auction will be held where the winners of the awards will be announced. Cash prizes will be presented and great bonsai, suiseki and other quality items will be auctioned to help with expenses.
