Re: Ixora chinensis -"santan"
>>>In one thread, Robert posted a boy being whipped,,,Here A boy being slapped in the face. In Malaysia- Elderly Malaysians called me a boy, A Taiwanese master called me- young man and a Chinese master, Venezuelan Master and BCi president called me - kid. I just turned 40 last week!!!. So stop hitting me for crying out loud. I'll be a nice boy...hehehe!
And oh! they asked me to finish the food in the table....Because it is a Chinese tradition- "The kid eats the last piece of food".....

Hi IBC,
I found a glazed pot, imported from Japanese surplus shop...bought it for 5 dollars. Seems to be antique with nice natural patina. I came with batch of Japanese house decors. I think this pot would create a good contrast with the flower and would compliment the yellow color.
I Can't believe this tree would be finish in less than 2 years.
I am also designing a proper stand, I want to have a formal stand for this display in the future.
Any suggestion would help.
regards,
jun

Man, you're killing me with this tree. Just love it!
BUT, I do wish the pot were bigger and deeper - especially deeper. LOVE the purple with the yellow flowers.

Re: Ixora chinensis -"santan"
I agree with Russell...the pot seems under sized and gives me an uneasy feeling looking at it.

Thanks Russell and Dario!
I will still hunt for a better pot... and I am comfortable too with the color of the current pot. This is what I love about flowering bonsai, the pot color selection is more exciting.

Hi Jun,I like this tree very much
Maybe a table like this or a little bit bigger will match your tree I think.

Congratulations! this is simply the best work on ixoria I`ve ever seen.
Very harmonic.
If it was mine, though, I`d remove the han-kengai.
I was thinking something like this:
What do you think?
Please, don`t interpretate my suggestion as a bad critic on your work. As I sad before, the best on ixoria I`ve ever seen.

Hi IBC.
I'll be displaying 2 or 3 trees in March for an interclub show. I was thinking about this ixora to be displayed for the first time. What do you think about the stand? does it match the tree and pot?. With the new flower buds popping out I am hoping to have more flowers in two weeks.

jun

I love your tree... however, I am not too crazy about the pot that seems smaller to me. I think a deeper, slightly larger, and maybe something unglazed will suit it more.

Display
Like the display very much.
The yellow flowers and the glazy pot and stand make my eyes rest on the beautiful trunk in the middle of the display.
Good work as always.

Dang boy, you've got my ixora looking GOOD!!
I really like that purple pot too, just wish it had been deeper. If that's the color you want I'm afraid you'll have to design it yourself and have someone make it for you. Lord knows that tree deserves the investment!
Beautiful.

L.L.B,
I would say - watch out for the loss of your negative spaces.
Other than that - booootiful !!!
Just got a very small yellow, your work stuck in my mind, inspiration!
Stay Well.

Thanks LLB.
For this medium size flowering tree with clusters of flowers that won't reduce in size of clusters, negative space would be sacrificed. I think same principles goes with Japanese design azaleas. But it is good to have varieties in the collection I think.

Re: Ixora chinensis -"santan"
Some good news with this tree,
I posted it in facebook, and I got some offers from International bonsai book authors including Peter Chan, to include the image of this ixora in their books...and some more of my other trees.
