Re: Ixora chinensis -"santan"
Jun,
Beautiful tree. I imagined it would turn out great ever since the first time you got the material and posted it.
Maybe, you can choose another pot. Perhaps a chinese Lujing glaze (robin's egg) or yellow lotus or papaya shaped pot. When it flowers, it will create a striking contrast.
Kind regards,
Jose Luis

hehehe. Thanks! no selling here in IBC... The natural form (semi cascade) of this tree is one of a kind (I think) if not very rare. and for this specie to get this huge is also quite rare (for a shrub). So, I guess I'll hold on to this one. hehehe.

Re: Ixora chinensis -"santan"
John, Mitch and Giomach,
Thanks guys. The only problem with this specie is getting the branch thick. The lower branch of this particular tree I think is more than fifty years old, and that is planted in the ground. The tree (material) was planted in a yard of an old house before World War 2.

jun

Thank you Jose Luis for the nice words.
Again our common problem here is the availability of pots. I can imagine it planted nicely in a colored pot.

I know, my old elementary school used to be lined with it everywhere. Last I went home, they were all gone. The space is replaced with buildings and paved.jun wrote:
