Yuhua Stone (Rain Flower Stone)
Yuhua Stone is the name for small picture pebbles from several places around Nanjing, Jiangsu Province,China.
In Chinese, ‘Yu’ means rain and ‘Hua’ means flower. So ‘Yuhua Stone ’ can also be interpreted as ‘Rain Flower Stone’.
In order to make a clear and smart picture, Yuhua Stone is usually displayed in water in a bow. Yuhua Stone is often an agate pebble, although it also can be any kind of hard rock which is in large part siliceous.
(sorry, I cannot upload the pictures )

Re: Yuhua Stone (Rain Flower Stone)
Hi Wen... How nice to see you here, again!!!!!
I'll gladly help you post photos. Look for a Private Message arriving in your personal "Mail" on IBC.
A serious scholar rock enthusiast in Taiwan recently asked me about reaching your friend & student Deng, and perhaps you can help us correspond with him. Another IBC member, who only recently joined, is a professional aquascaper; I wrote him privately to search for "Rain Flower stones" (Yuhua-shi) on the internet.
Your post is very timely, and I look forward to your sharing!

Thank you, Chris! I will follow your direction and try again to post the pictures. It should not be that complex and difficult for me I will soon succeed to post my first picture.
Deng is a good friend of mine, He call me teacher because I am a teacher in Tsinghua University. He is not really a student of mine in a way like "master and apprentice" or "supervisor and student". In fact, we learn from each other about stones.

Thank you Billy for your beutifull Yuhua Stones. I especially like the first one, the color and the pattern...
I often go to Nanjing for Yuhua Stones. and there is a new place where a lot of small picture pebbles are turning up, the city of Yichang, Hubei Province.
