mac owner suddenly having trouble with photos

I am the owner of an imac who has had no previous problem posting pictures. out of the blue, I am now unable to paste the photo file with the text. when I highlight " copy" image" then click on where I want to picture pasted, the highlight disappears and the photo image does not transfer. support is unfamiliar with macs and suggested I air the problem with the readership. I am not a computer guy, so simple explanations, please.

Try hitting the copy button in the pop up window. When the web link of the hosted photo is highlighted in the pop up window, hit the Apple+C simultaneously (shortcopy for copy). Then go to the area in the message where you want to post the image, click between the [ img] [ /img], and hit Apple+v (shortcut for paste). See if that works.

thanks kev and rob. I took my computer to a mac tech and he fixed the problem. something about a plug-in that needed to be re-installed.

Glad that it is sorted and that my diagnosis was close. Ah, technology, don't you just love it!
