Pinus mugo "BLOCK" 2006
Hi all
The first work began in 2008. Today I finished my first styling.

I agree!!!
I checked out the extra photo's.... Any explanation of how you got the severe bend? Time line? Great idea...
Great styling too..... Thanks

Cool...when I saw that first picture I was wondering "what the heck can you do with that?" Now I know! Amazing.
How long ago did you make that major bend? I'd also like to hear a little more about the procedure...

Hi Pavel
talk about (sexy) make-overs.
I suspect a wedge of deadwood was removed from the trunk to make that bend work to your satisfaction ;-)
regards to your pragmatic approach, once again

Stunning, and yes, please tell the steps taken because the first thought was that you took a 180 degree turn with the trunk.

And you did it again Pavel!, amazing work, even though the wedge options seems very reasonable, has anyone ever attempted/consider to use hot water steam to soften the wood fibers while making sharp bending's like this one? I don't even know if its possible or not on a live tree, but I done some before on some long pieces of wood while at the wood shop.

Nice transformation - courageous bend of the main trunk.
If I may be a bit picky - why did you bring the branch down to hide the major bend?
Also that first major bend may have looked a bit better if it was a bit further so that the two sections were not equal (perhaps using the Golden Mean to set the ratio) - but like I said a very picky comment. Good work.

Thank you all for your very kind words and nice compliments. I appreciate that.
The main trunk bending was carried out during two growing seasons. The particular place I bend only slightly weakened the wood. Progressive downloading with bending wire always in time of growth for small cracks were now healing. Unfortunately, everything was on a shelf in the garden for no photos. I just went around and ... .
Hi Rob - The main bending is real enough daylight visible, not so hidden. But you're right, it is possible branch point in the opposite direction. This position was a branch of the momentary idea of just doing a slightly different composition. Thanks for the nice comments and compliments.
Best regards Pavel
