New pot for my Pinus mugo
Hi all
My pine tree has a new pot. A pot made by Erik Križovenský.
Greetings Pavel

love the container but it overpowers the tree. I don't even notice the tree because my eye is drawn to the pot.

I like the new pot. The second one looked like a deflated soccer ball to me.

I was wondering about that too. It is a great tree and the container is awesome too. Perhaps a less formal and larger stand will balance the composition?

Thank you all for nice coments and compliments.
Tree crown will still work and shifted more to the left side.

I totally agree with Pavel to use the final pot while the tree is still developing to fit it. The increased density and ramification of a pine in training will extend the image beyond what he has at the moment - so the tree and pot become proportioned together. planning ahead to the finished tree saves further root disturbance, and from getting too many pots
cheers, they are nice pots eric makes - if you have the right tree for them.

It bugs me too. The tree and the container are each so dynamic on their own that it takes a while to absorb it all. I'm still debating whether the pot is just too big or if it's just planted too far to the right. I just see too much negative space on the left, maybe it's just the balance that's distracting for me.
I also like developing my trees in nice pots, whether it's the "final" pot or not. Often what I think will be the final pot doesn't work out in the long run. Pots don't develop much patina sitting on a shelf inside.
Another beauty Pavel!

Hello Pavel
Fantastic pot, i agree that it overpowers the tree a bit, but not because of the tree itself, but because of the position of the tree that could be improved in my opinion.
Growing the top more for the left side will certainly help, but right now the front part of the pot almost looks like an extension of the dead wood.
Keep up the fantastic work...
Greetings

Re: New pot for my Pinus mugo
Is this pot actually man made or is it a lava pot? I like it and I like the tree, of course what is there not to like about Mugos"?

I also think the dynamic of the pot conflicts with the tree. It looks too big. Fot me pots should not compete with the tree but simply balance and support the design.

Thank you friends for yours nice and interestings coments.
I appreciate any comments. With the composition I am very satisfied. Dish is not natural lava. A bowl made by Erik Križovenský (SK).

Thank you for the reply. It is nice to see a pot like this that looks like a natural stone and not some half a grapefruit pot like most of these type of containers look like.

Re: New pot for my Pinus mugo
As usual your trees are wonderful. I love the concept of the new pot but the low hanging branch on the right, that almost touches the pot, bothers me a bit. Your weather must be drastically different than ours. We are looking at temperatures at or below zero fahrenheit. for the next five days. Working on a tree around here is impossible.
