Nursery bought larch, 3.5" trunk, 7" root spread, 14" pot, 26" tall. I have been working on for 4 years. Development includes change in planting angle, growth/development of lower branches, increasing trunk angle at top third of tree and ramification. In future looking to move to a more finished pot, lower soil line (so left sided roots more visible, may need to loose some right roots) and consider more work on deadwood (increasing shari down trunk).

Ideas, thoughts on styling, development, pot selection appreciated.

Great progression.. Great tree. I was just looking at my ginkgo that I grew from seed four years ago thinking about how much growth it has put on in that time, but it still looks so juvenile comparatively. It reenforces the mantra that great trees start with great material. Maybe I should try a larch since I seem to be deathly impatient to mughos.

Excellent!
The simple fact of changing the planting of the tree gave it so much more potential, it shows you've got "a good eye".
And the tree looks very healthy, good job thumbs up

Love the development and the roots holding the leaning tree are great.
