The change from smooth bark to rough bark in ten years intrigues me. Nice tree and pot!

Thanks for posting....coming along nicely.
One question for you...have you thought about improving the nebari? It was a discussion subject at our clubs meeting last night and one member brought in a number of larches that he had done.....the results were impressive with roots radiating completly around the new base.

Nice tree Andre! And I too am impressed about the bark maturity. I hadn't heard this about Larches' and shallow pots...interesting!

graham i have to work the roots little by little cause the bid roots it has are pointing down so i have to work new roots till they are ready i have to deal with the root spread it has now

fore there two things that i've noticed over thee years one shallow pots and two direct sun have helped my larch bark development alot

Very nice progression. Have you thought of jinning the lowest branch? This will really give the tree an aged look. All in all, its a great tree and will only improve as the branch ramification improves.
