Larch Progression from a noobie
Ok, this tree was given to me as a gift in October of '08 on my way to the 1st US National Exhibit, in Rochester, NY. I had developed a growing interest in bonsai, over the few months leading up to the show after reading a bonsai book at a freinds house. This tree and I have both developed "together" so to speak. My first step the following spring was to remove the daughter trunk, and get the tree replanted. I haven't tried to push this tree too hard, as it wasn't very healthy to begin with. Well, here is a progression of the tree spanning the last 28 months or so...
Oct'08-Mar'10
August'10
Spring'11 in it's new Dale Cochoy pot

Top job imo , DaveA
In the August 2010 shot it looks just like a natural larch and that can be tricky to achieve
The needles also look nice and small

I feel like I've seen this tree in person...did you bring it to a BSUNY meeting sometime within the past year?
Nice tree.
