Hi Michael, Welcome to IBC
I love the work of these guys and a bold move for you. The movie is a great short and a great promo in showing bonsai as 'cool'... is bonsai Rock and Roll? I would like to think so.

Hi Michael.
Just watched your video and I’m speechless, I love it, very creative and simply superb execution.
Like your work as well, especially the last Juniperus.
Regards, Roland

Hi everyone - Thanks so much. It is a pleasure to post some of my work here. Also thanks so much for your replies on my video. I think it is necessary to show bonsai in a new way to help make bonsai more popular. - thank you for your support
Here is another work on a "simple" juniper material from this spring.
Yours, Michael

Shimpaku 'the blade' ;-)
Hi everyone,
more Juniper - I got this one from Farrand Bloch this summer and dared a restyling. It was exhibited on the Ginkgo award in the late 90s and up untill today has been restyled twice before i got it.
Strong bending had to be performed to bring the foliage back to the front and to the right. The tree is far from finished of course, it will become much better in the future when it matures over the next 2 years and once the foliage embraces the shari more.
The final foto will also be much better, once the tree is in its new pot and i bring it to the fotostudio again
thanks for watching, best wishes

Hi Michael,
you did a great job on bringing this well known Bonsai back to it's former glory and beyond it! There is one thing that is still a bit of eyesore to me though and that is the hollowed out Jin on the left side of the base of the tree! This Jin still looks realy hand made and there for artificial and out of place. I know that others before you have made this jin to look like this, but it is still distracting from the real beauty of this otherwise great Bonsai! The last few years there is a real uprising of hollowed out Jin's and Shari's in Bonsai designs and only a few of them come over as believable or tasteful! But that's just my opinion!
And a bit late, great job on restyling Farrand's Juniper, this tree has a great history in Europe and I am glad to see that it is still progressing as a Bonsai! Well don!
Cheers,
Hans van Meer.

Great job Micheal. Excellent work on the crown design.
I agree with Hans here. Not sure how to fix it though.
