Here's a few pots...
Finally ready to try posting here with this new technology!
Hope it works!
First, a medium sized slab built rectangle with rivets, stain, and some rough texture...
an large sized oval with copper glaze...
a rugged octagonal rectangle with rustic texture and chrome green glaze...
a matt green glazed round using a new claybody...
A large rectangle using slabs and a cream iron glaze...
And lastly, a shohin sized carved rectangle with blue glaze.
Thanks for viewing!
(Yea it worked! Thanks kev!)

What dimensions constitute a large or medium pot?

Thanks Keith,
Right now, I haven't been too specific on sizes, but since you asked, I am calling 6-10 inches medium and 12-16 inches large.
I want to include something for scale in my next set of photos so everyone can see it for themselves.

Hi Rob,
Beautiful pots.
The body of pot is rough, that is masculine, the visual direction of the flow structure is feminine, very quiet. Your glazes are very discreet, ideal for bonsai.
I wish you a happy work
Best regards
Peter

Rob,
Great to see your new work. I particularaly like the last one. Great shape, and I love how the feet work with the design on the rim.
I look forward to seeing more.

Nice assortment man. I can see bonsai in all of those. The first one reminds me of a wood box. I wonder how a pot made of two colors of clay with dovetailed corners would look ??
A wide range of styles and colors... good effort, keep it up !

Re: Here's a few pots...
That's a really interesting idea Rock, I suppose you would have to somehow tint one half of the same clay body to assure they fired consistently. I don't know if such a tint exists or not? Rob, love the pots the glaze of #2 is quite beautiful, I agree with Robert that that shape of the last one is very nice also. Thanks for posting them.

Rob,
Thanks for your kind words. I too like the last piece, it took quite a lot of prep, but I think it paid off.
Always great to hear from you

Thanks Rock, much obliged!
I like the dovetail idea. It would be a bit of extra prep but nothing is really impossible nowadays! If I ever decide to try it, I will name if after you.

Jim,
Thanks for your kind words. I too like the 2nd glaze and I think I will use it on another octagonal rectangle. It works well on the white raku body that I use.
Thanks again,
Rob

Rob,
Your work is really pretty and imaginative. Great website too! I love the "medium sized shohin with grayish blue glaze and an arched bottom profile", what a little stunner!
Are you coming to BCI New Orleans by any chance?

Re: Here's a few pots...
Russell,
Thanks so much for your kind words.
I will not be going to BCI this year as I have a previous engagement, but I am looking into adding it to my circuit for next year. I am currently upgrading my payment options on my site with credit cards and possibly PayPal, and hope to have that up and running by next week.
I am going to two local club functions this month, so if you still want the last one you mentioned, feel free to contact me at bonsaipottery(at)mac(dot)com.
Thanks

Hi Rob,
very nice your new pots, such pots are asked to bonsai lovers, and are also often used.
Best regards
Peter

Nice pots as always, I particularly like the rim on that last pot It great to see a lot of pots being show these days. I like the shino pot as well but I have a suggestion with glazing that is really a matter of opinion only. I usually try to apply the glaze down a small amount on the inside so that after potted up what is showing from the inside matches what is on the outside. I have noticed on some pots that I have used over the years that if I do not glaze down a little on the inside it can be distracting once potted. Well either way great work, I hope to see some in person one of these days, hopefully some time you make your way up here to the Carolinas or I make it down south. And I do not know about your schedule but tomorrow is the last day of school here and then I hope to have some more studio time this summer break.
Keep it up

Rob-
Your riveted drum pot is spectacular! I really like the way you cut the clay to show the grain. The horizontal scratches are a nice element. I also like the way your rivets are really close to one another.
