If it were my tree...
Hi Tony
A fine bit of material you have there ine plant i do like is the yew. If it were my tree i would use last picture as the front as it gives the plant more depth and dimention to the design.

Re: WORK IT OUT...
Sorry Guys it has turned out nothing like a cascade... the reason the tree was in that box was due to the roots being VERY long on that side of the tree. The last few years has been bringing the roots closer to the Main bulk of the tree. all that is needed is for the foliage to fill out and mature.
I have posted both sides of the tree... I know side that Alan Walker prefers as I posted this tree a few years back. This is the final pot... by Milan Klika, check out the website here: Milan Klika ... nice what side do YOU prefer?

Re: WORK IT OUT...
Hi Tony. Very, very nice tree. Taxus I am very happy. Yamadori this is excellent and your work also. More Taxus I like the first picture. You still have cascade taxus, which you worked in Trevaréz 2002?
Best regards Pavel S.

Hi Pavel... that taxus was sold the same day on the car park as I left the event....it is somewhere in France!

Re: WORK IT OUT...
Unexpected transformation indeed, Tony! To me the second picture looks more logical and harmonious in terms of the shari line. However, alive it may look different than on a picture.
Thanks for posting!

Picture 2, the tree is more balanced!
Look at picture 1 and the ghost says booooohhhhh!
Funny Tony, Ive just seen this post and was thinking ( hurts a lott) why does he not plant the tree vertical, than I scrolt a litle and what do I see, you did just that.
Great work my friend
Regards
Peter

Re: WORK IT OUT...
Hi Tone
Good to be back & hello to everyone.
The first image is great & will improve further as lower deadwood colour matures and the upper live branches age. I like the flow of the live vein in this front and the deadwood is beautifully balanced.
The second image does not have that same flow but the deadwood appears as a ghost leaping out at you - fantastic work.
A tree with two very different fronts gives twice the pleasure.
Maybe see you tomorrow at Willowbog?

Hi Tony... Thanks for your comments... the jury is out at the moment as to which front I will go for... I am at Willowbog on Sunday...Lee and some of the boys have gone up this afternoon... I have another event I am organising with Carolyn on Saturday Night...so... I cannot be up for the whole event I certainly looks like it will be a fantastic Show... I know that Peter has put a lot of effort into it this year (as always)

Re: WORK IT OUT...
currently I prefer the second picture. I think in time the first picture would be the front. Tough decision. Live vein in front or great shari in front. There are worse problems than 2 excellent fronts though!!!LOL

Re: WORK IT OUT...
Yesterday, I was ready to 'vote' for the second picture, but today my first choice is the first. You have a ghost either way, and I think the ghost's face is more interesting on the first picture. I love the tree and the variety of views.

Hi Tony,
Great tree! Very unyewsual! Maybe you should call it "Screaming at Yew"! I like the second picture the dead wood has much more power.

Geof
