Really impressive work!

One question, the dark and grainy border of the jiitas, is man made? Or It's the natural bark side of the trunk?

I was at the Swindon winter image exhibition yesterday.

john, you've aced it again. beautiful work. work on the tall stands has taken a backseat to building larger thinner slabs, at least for the time being. the tall ones need tops, sanding and finish so completion is not that far off. meanwhile, the slab project has kinda captured my interest. the two shown below with 2 coats of lacquer will end up with 6 - 8 coats top and bottom. actually the view shown here are of the bottoms, which could also be a top, as well. these are .50 inch thick. the next batch will be about .25 inches thick.

Sam the slabs are looking good, very nice work.

Todd, if you mean the little ji ita under the moss accent it was a very thin off cut that I had hanging around, I cut it to shape and carved grooves around the edges then sanded down further to try to give a driftwood look to the piece. Black stain and boot polish.
