I have a Wrigthia Religiosa, but just a small one that came from our local nursery.

Khaimraj,
Soil mixture 100% volcanic cynder. I spray salt water

I don't think I've ever seen anything used for bonsai like Pemphis. Unbelievable plant material.

Wow, ang ganda talaga sir Ogi. Hope makita ko yan sa ASPAC in manila. For me pemphis is the best material, bark, base, age and jin, lifeline, small form true leaf. Everything you need is in pemphis i think.

Beautiful! Great transformation in a relatively short period of time. I've seen quite a few photos of pemphis bonsai lately, looks like an excellent plant to use.

thanks for the good comments on my work...Pemphis is very complicated to grow...sometimes successful sometimes is a failure... This is one of my entry this coming abff this november 2012... I hope it will mature more

Hi Ogi,

Wondering if you can elaborate a little on your comments. What makes pemphis complicated to grow? Is it difficult to establish in a pot after collecting?

sorry for my mistake. i thought it was ASPAC, i mean it's ABFF in manila, philippines. i really hope to see all pemphis(bantigue) bonsai here in the philippines. i just love collecting bonsai even if i just started 4 months ago. but i eversince, i really want to collect bonsai. it was really quite ang long time when i have 2 pemphis and ficus bonsai, 11years ago i think. but unfortunately, my pemphis died because no one could teach me how to plant it. but my ficus is still alive now, so grateful! i bought it during my college days because i just love it very much. but now, i continued and have been taking it now seriously because there's this person who has been helping me, jimmy sabater and the IBC people. thank you so much!
