Re: Update! Pemphis Acidula
Well, I do like Cram's drawing very much. But wouldn't it be best to get it potted and growing before we do any real designing???? Will portions of those big trunks die, giving you veins of live/dead wood?
Amazing material, btw.
Amazing material, btw.

thanks for the response.
so far, almost all parts of the material were alive. because of its age, its base trunk was already hollow. il update the planted photo tomorrow and its decided front view. thank you so much and God bless.

Re: Update! Pemphis Acidula
well..yes...of course...you have to make the tree lives to do this project
i am always stunning by the size of the asian yamadoris....without roots
lucky you are....
when i see your tree....i think of the heavy backpacks i have to carry (and dig before) for yamadori....i dream

Hi Bro,
Thanks again by the way, with regards to your new big stuff, , i suggest, to let it establish first, dont be such a hurry, let nature touch do the initial form, in away, that big tree of yours has a big potential and as you go on with it, your can now, appreciate, then, visualize, imagine, make repositioning and create the way that will make it looks good, after all, thats a big tree where in you can reduce it piece by piece, but be sure that you will arrive/get the best/desire position before you run out of branches.. YOU CAN DO IT! THATS THE SPIRIT..

Re: Update! Pemphis Acidula
pretty amazing. these can recover and grow so easily. the ones I have require so much pampering, it causes me to wonder sometimes.
best wishes, sam

re update pemphis acidula
hi jong, looks great , just get it growing first, BUT think outside the box, dont be restricted by the roots, i would be tempted to reangle the trunk, lean the tree over to the left , use the lower right side branch as the main trunk to form the apex, and then the thicker left trunk would become left branch. or you could just give it to me. have fun. john

re pemphis update
hi jong, wish i could do you a virtual but i cannot yet, but for now if you tilt the pot over to the left side < almost laid down > you will see what i mean . i do it all the time with my yamadori, i never worry to much about the roots they will adapt . john
