effects of lights and shades

Oh wow! I can see the sky and cloud is not the whole way across in picture 1, so how did you create the effect? Against a window? Using a mirror?

Thanks. im glad you liked it.

its really simple. i just placed the penjing under my huge chinese elm bonsai. then put the source of light above the elm at an angle, then i placed a wet tarpaulin at the back.
