Would like to see the whole tree aswell
One thing I've noticed is that on the picture of the Nebari, in the center, there's something orange-linke on the live-vain. This showes on the pictures that follow as little dots higher up in the tree. Could it be the bacteria Erwinia amylovora ? I hope not.

I like the deadwood but the lack of continuation of the thread is a bit tedious.

I am also a patient person. You have to be with bonsai. These threads have to flow though, or people lose interest.

Hello Helmut. I think we have established that this tree has excellent and dramatic movement in the deadwood. Why won't you show the whole tree?

Helmut,
Mother nature has done a great job with this tree. Thanks for posting.
Kind regards,
Jose Luis

I think it's because deadwood does not a good bonsai make... Shame.
Fantastic movement. Thanks for sharing.

Hi folks,
This begs the question – Can one still call it bonsai when the deadwood is so strong it becomes the main character (focal Point) and the tree (foliage) becomes second fiddle?
Cheers

I love to hear that we have the same taste
In deed the tree isn´t finished yet. The form is given already but it needs a lot more green and it will take at least one year.
The reason that i don´t show it here right now is because I decided that a foto is telling nothing about it....
so when I introduce it then in 3D....

Good question!
To me a bonsai is a piece of living art.
The important thing is to keep the green in an authehtic balance to the deadwood that it still looks like a healthy ancient tree ....otherwise you could plug a seed in rotting deadwood and call it art ...

Why wont you show us the whole tree?? This is a good question too!

Sweet deadwood...obviously. I'm with the majority on this one and would like to see how all that fits in. Maybe in the future, maybe never.

I think he answered the question. He said it's not ready.
I can appreciate his approach. The tree has truly stunning movement and deadwood features. That he shared. But it's not a completed work yet. I look forward to the eventual reveal.
Thanks,

Re: only the tree matters...
Not sure I understand this approach. We all have trees with interesting features, but if we only posted bits of trees there wouldn't be many users on this forum. The whole ethos of the IBC is to discuss, constructively critisize, possibly make virtuals and generally bounce ideas around. Can't do that with bits of tree, foliage or not.
