Hi Peter
I would look for a shohin or chuhin, and try my best to loose the stick.
Kind regards Yvonne

hi Peter,
very unique tree, you have the option to create a diffrent bonsai - not the standard ones
what is the treatment your'e going to do for the wood worms ? can you please specify ?

I am still looking in to that, I will leave the tree alone at this moment, let it recover from collecting.
Yvonne, shohin is not an option I think, I will show you what my plans are on a later time.

Re: Recently dug this tree Euonymus europaeus (european spindle tree)
Yvonne also, the stick migt be bigger as you think actually its not that straight at all, the deadwood gives it some nice movement, and in the top there is also a gentle curve.
But thats always the trouble with pictures, they are only 2D so everything becomes flat.
I hope we can meet again soon, I will show you the real deal.
Peter
BTW did you see the straight pine in bonsai focus ( the last issue)

I think it has the potential to be a very unique bonsai.
Maybe it could look like this with leaves in the future?
And if in Flower it could look stunning.
Good luck with it.

from beast to absolute beauty...
Hi Peter
Though you have explained about a similar idea to me the last time we discussed this spindle, I think it is only fair to say, that Rob really nailed how your spindle should be styled - and on top of that, the deadwood/hollow is fully visible in Robs' version. The choise of pot is spot on.
@ Rob: well done. That virt really took me by surprise... that design is pure wabi sabi ;-)
regards to both of you

Thank you very much Dorothy,
the cascade was already in my mind aswell, after seeing the last bonsaifocus, where a tree was styled like that( it was a pine though)
Loke I agree, but I have time no styling for at least a year my friend.

Hi Peter
As you said, was the stick not completely strait, but had a nice gently curve. This is very nice, and all the virts are worth considering....I am sure the tree will be very interesting to work with in the future. A good find
How fat is the base?.
Kind regards Yvonne
