I really like this. it almost looks like 2 separate trees combined into one. Is this Shimpaku?

Work done on the bonsai.

Yes Tim, this bonsai has been modified several times after it changed hand but the original composition is still prominent.

Mahalo (Thank You) Zaratul,
I really like the way this tree looks. If by chance, can you that a picture of it the way it looks today? Just wanted to see it's progress.

What a Tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am actually at a loss of words having seen such a beautiful tree. It is astounding in its beauty. The appeal of the tree lies in the simple fact that it looks very very natural. Like a tree in a tropical rain forest. Have seen lots of such trees in Discovery channel NatGeo etc. It is so heartwarming that one can indeed create a bonsai designed after such inspiring trees in nature.
On a more rational basis this tree in its naturalness follows John Naka's dictum of making ones bonsai look like a tree. Being so far removed from the traditional design moulds makes it definitely special. In my quest to understand and create trees in the NATURALIST STYLE, this tree is a great lesson learnt. Thanks Zaratul for mentioning that this tree is featured in the book "Mission of transformation". I have ordered the same and am waiting for it to land at my door step in a couple of weeks. I hope the life history of this tree is discussed in the book.
Thanks again for sharing the image of such a beautiful tree and have fun owning it
Regards
Ravi
