This is the bonsai that features in Robert Steven's 'Mission of Transformation'. It was first crafted by a 'sifu' of mine...

Yes Tim, this bonsai has been modified several times after it changed hand but the original composition is still prominent.

Mahalo (Thank You) Zaratul,

I really like the way this tree looks. If by chance, can you that a picture of it the way it looks today? Just wanted to see it's progress.

What do you think of this Bonsai? Empty What a Tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post  Ravi Kiran Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:59 am

I am actually at a loss of words having seen such a beautiful tree. It is astounding in its beauty. The appeal of the tree lies in the simple fact that it looks very very natural. Like a tree in a tropical rain forest. Have seen lots of such trees in Discovery channel NatGeo etc. It is so heartwarming that one can indeed create a bonsai designed after such inspiring trees in nature.

On a more rational basis this tree in its naturalness follows John Naka's dictum of making ones bonsai look like a tree. Being so far removed from the traditional design moulds makes it definitely special. In my quest to understand and create trees in the NATURALIST STYLE, this tree is a great lesson learnt. Thanks Zaratul for mentioning that this tree is featured in the book "Mission of transformation". I have ordered the same and am waiting for it to land at my door step in a couple of weeks. I hope the life history of this tree is discussed in the book.

Thanks again for sharing the image of such a beautiful tree and have fun owning it Smile

Regards
