Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Hi Dale,
Good work. I really like those DRB pots with the shino glaze.

These new pots are some of the best I've seen of yours lately.

Love those carved ones and glazes, too!
Wheel thrown sides on a slab are my favorites method of forming pots. You just never know (to quote Forest Gump, lol)
Thank you for the pictures. They inspire me.

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
At the MidAtlantic Bonsai Symposium last weekend I photographed these two trees on display that were potted in Dale pots.
The first is a tall Austrian Pine by Jim Gillespie in a pot I made specifically for that tree a few years back.
The second tree is a Jack Pine potted in a matte granite-looking glazed pot.

After the Potomac show this last weekend at the Washington, D.C. National Arboretum it appears there will be a couple shohin 'Dale Pots' returning to the UK with Mr. Tolley, who was there doing demos and workshops during the weekend.

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
A while back I had a great pot technique idea come to me while watching one of Jesse James' programs where he built a motorcycle and used sheets of polished copper in the construction of the fenders, tank, etc.. He built a beautiful tank by piecing together sections of copper and riveting them with beautiful flowing rows of rivets. It gave me a new idea for rivet pots. I've done horiz. rivets and vert. rivets, now I have "JJ" pots.
This is the second time I've gotten pottery ideas while watching custom motorcycle build shows!

Dale
These are beautiful in their ruggedness.
The meandering oxides add interest and mystery.
What kind of tree might be graced by these pots?
Thank you,
Judy
