Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Hi Dale,
these are reflected typical "Dale Cochoy pots"
The first pot is very expressive.
The drum pot also bears your signature.
Best regards
Peter

Hello Dale,
Sorry for the confusion of names, I've improved it.
Your new photos on your pots are very good effect.
Best regards
Peter

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Hi Dale.
Nice pots! Especially the dry riverbed ones. Do you have a website?
Oh, and my wife thinks the small pot with white glaze dripping from it looks like a Christmas pudding or a profitterole! See what I have to put up with.
FYI, I actually like that small pud. It's just ugly enough to be handsome.

Thanks Harleyrider. I liked that little goopy pot also. I wonder if I can get those to do that if I WANT THEM TOO??
What type Harley? I made a real dent in these pots at a show last weekend.....and payed off my wifes HD today!!
I should have a blog soon, I think I can handle that better than a website.

Classy...
Wish shipping costs were as interesting as Tokoname's
Keep up the good work, I might win at the "Loto" one day

Love the river bed...
and not just when I'm collecting suiseki.
I just loved these pots when I saw them at the MidAtlantic Bonsai Societies festival. I could only buy one, but this is what I did with it.
The tree is coming along nicely. I can't wait til the tree is good enough that peoples' first reactions won't be "nice pot!"

Another portulacaria in a dry riverbed pot. Interesting.

Thanks Mike,
Good looking portulacaria. It's actually 'styled' You rarely see that.
I noticed you were one of the 'missing' this year at Rochester?

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Velodog,
They actually DO get used for other things.
The Texas Ebony ( pretty large) and Korean boxwood are older trees of mine that went to a friend/helper and then he used DRB pots with them. The pot with the boxwood was a 'second' that I gave him.
The shimp is a tree I got him elsewhere and he used a DRB pot with.

New pots
Thanks Dale. It's a first styling, but has a few years to go. I'm hoping to emulate Jim Smith's portulacarias. Those are well-styled trees.
Missed Bill's because I had a Friday night obligation. Didn't make sense to make the five hour drive on Saturday morning. The early September date has never been kind to people with kids in school.
Now that I have a tree in that pot I need to know when you have more available...

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Thanks for the pics Dale. I thought it was interesting that the only two DRB's I'd seen in use prior (one being my own) contained the somewhat unusual Portulacaria bonsai. With those pots desert-y appearance I do think they look especially good with the succulent type of foliage.

Re: Some pots for the new gallery
Mike,
Pots sold well at Rochester this year. I'll have more of this type at Asheville in a couple weeks. Only about a 15 hour, or so, drive each way for you! An easy trek for fine pots!
Yes, Jim Smith's portulacarias are indeed fantastic, Folks who say they will never make good bonsai just simply haven't seen some of the ones we've seen in Florida. I have several pics of Jims that I took at his home display, but, this one just knocked my socks off . It was on display at a BSF convention a couple years ago. It was....huge!
Velodog,
getting pics of peoples trees in your pots is far easier said ( or requested) than done! Believe me!
