Purchased from Suthin about four years ago. The second pic is how it looks today. It's ready for a display pot. I'm thinking of a square with soft corners having a grey stone color to it. Can anyone make a suggestion? I'm in the USA. Thanks

Hi Peter,

Beautiful tree indeed.I think that the color of your pot must be masculine dark brown maybe, shalow and about the size of your first pot.I see the first branch a bit too low and is covering the lovely movement of the trunk

It is coming along quite nicely. Any chance of seeing it at differing angles?

Beautiful tree!

You mean rectangle, right? Most square pots are made for cascade and semi-cascade bonsai. Shallow square ones are rare.

Nice JWP! I agree with Pady, the curve of the trunk needs to be seen. Would like to see more of it as in the first photo. Maybe its just the angle.

That's an interesting perspective. The lowest left branch in your virtual is a back branch. Here's a shot of the tree today. I've had discussions with my teacher, Colin Lewis, and other bonsai enthusiasts about a pot. The concensus (theirs) is a shallow rectangle. Although my mind is committed to a square shape, I'll size the tree up with rectangular pots and see how it goes.
