Pine cones on Japanese White Pine. Should they be removed?
Last summer my white pine developed tiny pine cones which looked really good on the tree? this summer they have grown much bigger.
so a few questions, Will they keep getting bigger and start looking really out of proportion to the tree. Are they sapping all the energy from the tree.
Should they be removed? and if left to develop and ripen will the seed be fertile?
Many thanks to anyone with experience on this

hi,
generally speaking yes remove all seed pods from bonsai - not only does the tree put energy into making them, but they ruin the scale of the tree as they are normal size.
cheers Marcus
