I like the serene feel of this display. The chickadee in the scroll, with the autumn color of maple leaves is a nice touch.

The scroll really does set much of the meaning and feeling of a display. When I first started buying scrolls for display with no knowledge, mine were always too busy.
The more i get into it ,the more I appreciate a simple theme. With low water flows in the falls, color in the maple, and a bird ready to hop over to the tree, it just seems to work.
thank-you for your comments....

Dick:

Nice autumn feeling with your latest display!

A couple of comments to perhaps improve the display. Most important, the right side of the display table is exactly aligned with the left edge of the scroll. Perhaps it might look more interesting and not form a vertical line if the tree/table were moved, one way or the other.

Also, the companion plant is a bit too immature. Should be much fuller to provide contrast. Pot is good, but the flat board is the same shape as the main display table. Try an irregular shaped wood round, or even round. Too late in the season for a bamboo raft.

Keep up the good work!

Here is a display I arranged for my cascade style Introductory Bonsai Course.

Note the cascade style juniper does not show seasonality, as does the hanging scroll. So, it add the feeling of autumn season a grass was used as the companion planting.

Love the scroll, dick, looks fantastic!!
Bill is right,(as usuall!).....moving the table to the left would really enhance the image. "Open" it up...

Thanks for sharing, Bill.....your display just"looks right"...very harmonious and subtle!!! Smile
