Shohin Elm
Hello to all,
I've got this elm for about 8 years.
Since his transplant in February 2014, it has developed very well, although the weather conditions have also conditioned things.
Was allowed to grow freely until now, having been fertilized with organic fertilizer, in addition to fish emulsion.
Influenced by our friend David Carvalho, and with the support of Alberto Baleato, got the Biorend, which will be from now on a supplement fertilization.
Thus, a complete defoliation was performed with a slight trimming of selection branches.
Hug.

I think you need to be careful with the consistent defoliation, it does weaken the tree quite a bit. some experts only defoliate or pinch their Elms when they are at the stage of 'finished' trees.
Whats the nebari like? or have you covered it up because you are developing it?

Thanks for your tips BobbyLane.
I know it might have been a risky move, considering it was repotted in February.
About the nebari i am not very worried with it, because i am still developing it and the tree.
Best.

Hi,
I agree with you Yvonne. The tree is 20 cm tall.
Not a shohin at all.
Just to let you know, this season i am using a new fertilizer Tibolar-RS (NPK-4:6:2). Let's see how it goes.
By the leaf color, so far so good.

Re: Shohin Elm
Today, this tree is not looking so good. It is the same all years at this time of the year.
Next year it will be repotted and i was thinking on eliminating some of the top branches.
What do you think?

Re: Shohin Elm
Rui,
what does the tree look like presently, and does it have surface roots?
Later.

Just waiting the leaves to fall off to check the tree without them.
They are still green.
