I love your new pots, clean and classic lines, fantastic and always a pleasure to view them. But the last pot with the bird for the feet, wow! Excellent idea and a fantastic pot

The value of a suiseki can be substantially increased by carefully selecting a suiban with suitable colour, glaze and texture.
If you have the possibility to cooperate with a good potter, a suiban can be custom made for the suiseki. This is the ideal case. In addition to colour, glaze and texture, the shape and size of the pot must be considered as well as the height of the rim and the shape of the pot’s feet. The arrangement of suiban and suiseki must create a harmonic ensemble. Bigger pots tend to get cracks during the production process, depending on the clay. This need not always be fatal. A good goldsmith can fill such a crack with gold.
Willi Benz
Extract from his books "Suiseki" and "The asian art of beautiful stones".

Peter,

Quite the beautiful bunch to show your mastery!

Form: well balanced, emphasis on graceful proportion;

Color: well chosen, great for bonsai;

Glazes: subtly variegated, great use of reduction like effects from a neutral atmosphere...

A true ceramic master cheers

Thanks again for sharing here on this great international venue!

I do love a humble artist! But i must agree, you certainly ARE a master. I am constantly amazed at the quality of your work. I firmly believe that your work is the best in the world, both in technical quality and artistic merit. One day i hope to visit you in germany! I also hope to one day have enough money to buy some of your pots!

Regards,

Matt

Absolutely wonderful pots you have shown here. They are excellent alone, and perfect for trees. Great Work! Laughing

Can you please give some idea of the size? Question

Hi Matt,
thanks, you're welcome.

Hi John,
Thank you for your nice compliment.

Hello Libby,.
You thank you.
The edge of the pots has been stamped.
I have compiled a pot decor "ABC", here you can read all about decoration techniques belonging to bonsai pots. Unfortunately it is done only in German.

http://www.bonsaischalen.info/index.php?page=abc-schalen-dekors

Stefan, (here in this forum "sulrich" avatar) must translate all in a good English, which is very much work. When the English "decor ABC" is finished, it will be to see here.

Hi Russell
Thank you very much.
Yes, the glaze has some purple.

Hi Rob,
Thanks again, I try to be constantly better Potter. We have the same goal.

Hi bonsaimeister,
Thanks for the nice compliment.
The sizes of the pots can be found on my homepage in the "N series".

Best regards
Peter

I agree....it makes me want to experiment with single-firing again. I haven't done that in years. For those non-potters, this is firing a pot one time without the security of a bisquit firing. The glaze is applied to bone dry (usually) pots and then fired, CAREFULLY! And yes, Peter used great technique. I don't see any pinholes or uneveness in glaze coat. Cool

Has anyone else here done this recently?
