Little Lantana 'Dallas Red'
This is kind of a two part post. First about the little tree and second an eventual pot.
So I am about two weeks from serious repotting season here in Las Vegas and I am getting the itch. So I grabbed a Lantana Camara 'Dallas Red' for about $1.50 it has a 1" base and is now about 4" tall after I butchered it. They are very commonly chopped to nothing in landscapes here this time of year. Any experts on Lantana please chime in!
These three pictures are: what I started with, what I ended with and a $.99 store strainer where it will spend the next summer.
This picture is not mine but what the leaves and flowers look like on this plant.
I have this little 3" square pre WWII Japanese pot just sitting around. Would it work for this plant?

Neat little one! Wiring should be carried out on newer green branches, read 4" to 6", after the wood has harded up they become very brittle (learnd first hand). Moist enviroment encourages blooming, misting/evap.dish. Soil that is too moist with most anything will lead to rot. Good start, not a pot expert by any means think everything is cool, good growing.

Best pot for a Lantana in Africa is the Dustbin.
Sorry.
They have also the habit of dying off branches and trunks....good luck, and keep it in America please.
Were does it come from originally does anybody know?

How does a Australian Weed Officer feel about South African Asparagus ferns, Agapanthus praecox and Stapelias?
...there, you are starting to understand.
