(Crataegus monogyna) Common Hawthorn No.5
I collected this year Hawthorn this year. Unfortunately it did not have many roots. However hopefully enough to survive. (Fingers crossed). It has just started pushing the leaves out and is now on a daily dose of Rhizotonic. It will be kept in the Polly tunnel until the weather warms a little more.
Obviously not ready for work yet but if anyone has any ideas on where to go with it I would very much appreciate it
Thanks Sam

Sam,
Not sure where these should go design wise but I am noticing a pattern with you collected plants. You need to be more ruthless removing unnecessary branches. I know it is tough to cut/remove ramified branches but if it is not in the right place and cannot be used, you have to let it go...the sooner the better. Otherwise, you will waste time building ramification in the wrong place.
Sorry for being blunt but I hope you know I mean well.

Dear Mr. Miyagi
i really like this tree for me it has bags of potential to make it a light feminine tree. but you have to trim the "bush".
this is what i would go for in the first year i think it would make a double trunk with one trunk cascading just like a hawthorn would be like on the rocks.
you could even plant it on rocks but i think the cascading trunk is the strongest point the main trunk needs a bit of twist in it otherwise it is a bit boring with a simple curve. hawthorns are beautiful twirly creatures, so give them the honor to bring the beauty out of this. and she will love you back

Hi Dario, Completely agree on the cut back issue. Only given this one and the others a small trim so far but been so busy collecting that I haven’t had a chance to properly look at them. Also this hawthorn has so many braches and options I just can’t decide where to go with it.
Thanks to everyone else for your comments and ideas. Attila I really like your idea and as you I see it as a petite feminine tree. Have to incorporate the cascade branch though my nellie, it has such nice movement.
