Get along well with orchestration ( two - ornamental stone essence )
1 select a stone figures -- dancers
2 bottom placed on bamboo panel, stone body is more prominent, on the left side set a purple small bonsai, dancers perspective does not come to nothing. Increased each object interaction.
The 3 change, with the characters, pieces of stone, replace the bonsai, sensory interaction more space, by the dancers of this point, expanded to pieces of stone, the two become one line. Feel better than a picture.

Hello Wang Jun,
Is there a difference in the way of display between the south and north of China,
as i learned the character of the south and north Chinese people differ?

I am sure more knowledgable people will comment, but I prefer the second display, but being western and reading left to right I would put the large stone on the left and the plant on the right, I would also put a little more distance between the stone and the plant, also I might use a slightly larger plant and one the had a less striking color (I think the bright green might be too much.) I think my choice would be a shohin bonsai without foliage.

What bothers me is the busy conflict i see with the textures. I see it in the wooden wall carving, the bamboo mat and the bigger stone. I'd like a more simplified approach. I like Billy's suggestion of a shohin sized tree with no foliage placed maybe on a small round thin jitta with the bamboo mat removed.

Hi Bhswjww
I wish you would find a shorter, and easier name.....
I like the second display most.....it show the elements does not have to be expensive to show taste.
The woodcarving on the wall, is nice with a good collour, but I would place a bit lower.
The lovely humanshaped stone is placed well in a nice daiza with a good collour.
The small plant is nice and fresh, and the collour of the pot is very nice together with the daiza. Only would I place it futher to the left.
The mat is nice....
Kind regards Yvonne

My understanding is that this change is more concise.

I am not sure of what the problem is but I think something is wrong with this display. I am sure some of the others will make a more knowledgeable comment.
BTW, I ordered a book on Monday about setting up displays by Willi Benz of Germany; the book came in 48 hours and is really full of great information and illustrations.

What i see in the display is an over the top usage of a daisa on a display table, very very busy and then the
simple companion plant is in such a simple pot and jitta so as to be as a whole, not cohesive. if it were mine the diaza would not have a table under it and the pot of the companion plant would be half that height, and sitting on a thin simple round black disc.
Interesting world we live in, where westerners are discussing a chinese display, while studying a book written by a german on japanese display.

Story Line?
Hello W.J. and Good Morning!
As I read your display, trying to see what your saying,
Time of year or season? Holiday or special occasion,
Looking for the story you are trying to tell the viewer?
very powerful LingBi, daiza style as new, but stone looks very old
nice scroll! good colors and size, is theme? area stone came from?
tree needs more time, slab jitta, cut into thirds and try moss accent now.
Display can be precise and take careful though and planning, if for exhibit.
Or just simply for personal fun if at home with what you have to use.
Only friendly talk as I am expert on nothing...

Re: Get along well with orchestration ( two - ornamental stone essence )
Hello all,
I do not know much about Chinese stone display.
The type of tokonoma display we discuss here on the forum in general is based on the Japanese way,
this originated from the Japanese Zen practice and the tea rituals of the tea masters who where practicing Zen.
The south Chinese Zen practice and tea rituals did not have the tokonoma display as such (as far as i know)?
Listening to my own feeling the individual objects do not harmonize together.
I try a little suggestion, just simple things about placement and proportion since i can not alter the total with
my humble virtual drawing skills.
regards, Sunip

Friends, and everyone in the comments.Thank you, I think this is the reason for the stone-loving.
Loving stone groups in China is a huge concern. Like like animals, like like figures, like the shape of the mountain, like the color on the surface. Divided into many schools.
So placed to absorb the impact of the Japanese SUISEKI like this style a lot of people, but this is only superficial, we explore the regularity. I am thinking about a friend to the proposal put forward views. Appreciate the point of view of each person's different - it was the stone to bring the fun.

I like stone at this height even more,
reminds me of a mountain gorilla,

But lines made by peter are compelling...

I think it is shot, lens items close, cramped screen. Vision focal length, that the entire screen to stay blank more. Items from naturally far.

Hi Wang Jun
I have a question...maybe you can help.
Is a chinese kind of outdor-yoseki being used for chinese stones?.
And indoor?.
I think this is very interesting to know, as I have some chinese stones, and want to do the right thing.
Very kind regards Yvonne
