The samurai & the fisherman: bonsai penjing mudmen

Daily fishing at the waterfront allows the old fisherman to earn his life. But, because of bad weather, the catch has been not good recently and the fisherman could not repay the money in time due to a samurai. Very upset, the samurai takes out the sword and in his anger, he is ready to kill the fisherman on the spot.



"In the spirit of 'bushido', one does not kill the enemy in his fury, says the old fisherman." The samurai took back his sword and said to him: "I will leave you one more year to repay your debt." Then, the samurai returned home, in the dark of night, he discovered, that his wife was lying in bed with a man. In his rage, he pulls out his sword and immediately wants to kill this man. But, thinking back over the words of the old fisherman, he returned his sword.



In fact, the man supposed to be beside his wife, was his mom! During his absence, to deter thieves, his mother was disguised as a man. The next day, on the same beach, the samurai came to see the old fisherman and told him that his debt was paid!
Like other forms of artistic expression, the art of Bonsai-Penjing allows us to send a message. In my turn, I use the bonsai mudmen figurines to pass through this message, a positive idea for those who receive it.
