Findings on Van couver island
This summer on a yamadori dig, I had 5 minutes to stroll the banks of a small creek in the campbell river area.
Should have spent more time in the water than the mountains My thanks to Chris C for walking me thru the photo posting procedure

Hi Dick... Thanks for sharing! It is great to hear of your enthusiasms. Please keep us informed of Pacific NW stone events... and of viewing stones/suiseki (are they in the Pacific Rim Collection?) exhibited at the Museum where you & others generously volunteer.

Hi Dick
The first stone has a nice strong collour and texture.....the next is a bit too blurred.
Look forward to more photos of stones from you.
Kind regards Yvonne

Re: Findings on Van couver island
My first one is still half finished.
I have a friend that makes all my bonsai stands that I get to make me a respectable daiza, from time to time.
I got a big box from him yesterday. Felt like santa had arrived early. Two shohin root stands, a turntable, two stone daizas, and another feature on a bonsai table built earlier that will give me yet another look to the same stand. pieces are interchangable. Idea i came up with and his woodworking skills. one of the root stands was made from yew wood and it has lots of neat knots and grains. i enjoy it as it is and plan to cover up the wood features with a bonsai pot while on display so that it doesn't take away or over power the pot and tree.
