300 Ancient Olive Trees saved.

Very cool. It's pretty amazing how they can move such a large ancient tree. I've seen it done here with native Oaks that were moved for devolpment.

Hi Bob, How big were the Oaks? Quercus have huge root systems. Must have been a mammoth job! Would love to see that.

Big-several hundred year old ones. It usually takes them 2 years from the initial side cutting of the roots. Then they leave it in place and over time undercut and then finally lift them, it's pretty amazing to see. They have it down pat too--I think the success rate is 80-85 % survival.
