I have to agree with you, Jun on your comment about two types of possible designs created by the wind.
There is the classic windswept where a tree pushes branches into the wind and gets them broken off. It keeps trying tho because the new growth likes exposure to the sun but ends up eventually being knocked back.
Then there is the kind I call wind blown, like your example here. The wind is strong enough to create the curved design but doesn't rise to the level where it begins to break limbs off. I see this style so prevelent in penjing and really like it.
I'd call myself more of a pine guy but will have to find something this spring that I can create this look on. I find it absolutely fascinating. Thanks for sharing
