Re: Strange ficus microcarpa
hi law,
its a nice tree to work on but only an observation there's one back branch towards apex that has an aerial root that thickens already i think you should consider cutting it?? it has thicken already and your having a reverse tapering, ficus has a tendency ti have lots of aerial roots, what i normally do with mine when i achive the desire size for my branch i clean it up, but ficus microcarpa is one of my favourite tree, thanks for sharing and i hope i didn't confuse you more.
Regards,
Alex/Ogie

No problem, you just have to know that this root is not a part of the apex but a part of a back branch wich one is graffted on an other one. This root is programmed to be cutted in two years if everything is all right.
I want to make this tree like a spider web, all the branches and the trunk graffted together.
Soory for my uggly english.

I dunno what's "strange" about it. Looks like a very nice Ficus to me. If I had any use for indoor bonsai, I wouldn't mind having something like it in my collection.

I suspect "strange" under one of the word's other translations from French. I like it and I'm not a fig fan.

This is one of those few tree that really appears to be a large powerful tree.

Like Jim I don't see anything strange about this tree. It is quite powerful and will only improve with time. Well done Law, how long have you had the tree and can you give a bit of its history if possible.
I suppose the uro at the front of the tree looks like a cyclops' eye especially in photos 3 & 4, maybe that's the feature Law finds to be strange. I love the tree, please post more photos of it.

"Strange" because many of branches have been graffted together, what you can't see on this poor pics. It's like a big web inside of the structure, the reason why i don't cut the roots for the moments...
I sold this ficus microcarpa to a friend of mine. (Mr Oshu, the guy that makes the video)
Hope i will continue to put my hands inside of this tree one time a year.
