Now you got me, I dont really now much about stones, the daiza I like very much and seems to fit very good, now for the stone.
It could be the picture, but to me its a bit like a worn down pyramide or a vulcano.
As said I do not know much about this subject.

If I can only see all that Peter saw I'll be glad to take the stone. but for now, please, keep it until I can see it all...maybe I am not yet enlightened like Peter. I don't deserve it yet, ... I still need to buy more stone app magazines and a few "playboy" magazines (or the other way around)..do you have some old copies Peter? send it over.
regards,
jun

I envy you.
BTW. Do you know what your name means? Peter- from the Greek word Petros: Meaning "stone". Perfect right? That's where the power of your gift came from- you can see what's in the stone.

jun
I knew that Jun, but never call me a fossil
Now we have to go on with this topic, Yvonne more stones please!

Hi Jun
It is OK...I guess there is a diffrense between man and woman jokes....I did not like, you showed the stone again, as i had posted an another stone, and would have prefered a responce to this stone.
I took it as the joke it was, with only one reply, hoping it stopped there.
Kind regards Yvonne

Re: My Danish stones
Well, if you view it from the top I think the cut of the wood is too tight. but I like it as it is, looks unconventional and minimalist.

Hi Jun
I have been looking at the photo more times now. And you say it...from the top, is it looking too sparse, but not from the sides.
It must be the design....I will have to take more care, and study books.
Hi Trantanhung
I have not made very many daisas.....I have a Dremmel, and 3 bits, thats all.
All I need, is the wish to carve the daisas, and to look at other peoples work, for the learning.
Kind regards Yvonne

Re: My Danish stones
This is a very simple mountainstone, and it only stands 9.5 cm tall in the daisa. But I liked the shape of it, the fat base is a good thing. The collour is a mix of almost black, and a pinkish collour....Very nice, the pinkish collour reminds me of the collour off Fujisan.
I have found more of this kind off stone in "my" quiet smal bay.
The stone needs rubbing, and I will look forward to do this.
This time have I gone a little further in the design, and also have I, for the first time added a higher corner.
Please feel free to enjoy, or say your oppinion, as I learn....
Kind regards Yvonne...Peter your tiny stone is next

As you know I am not really a stone person and I have made only one daiza under the direction of US Master Sean Smith.
But, the stone above looks heavy and the daiza looks fragile, like it will be crushed by the weight of the stone.
Also, if it is in the back of the stone, what is the purpose of the higher corner? I am sure adding that feature took a lot of extra work.

Re: My Danish stones
Hi Billy
Yes, it was not easy to make the corner...but the stone needed it, as it did not have the corner by it self. It was my first try.
I can understand, you dont like the daisa. You think it is too small.... I dont gett the crush-feeling.... hopefully will other say their oppinion.
To make the stone look big, and to be the issue, the daisa have to be small....
Kind regards yvonne

Great idea, the corner on the daiza is covering the fact that the stone was incomplete in that corner.

I don't dislike the daiza, (I should do so well.) I just think it could be thicker appearing.

Re: My Danish stones
Hi Yvonne I like the daiza, one question though could you make that corner more dominant (synligt) by f.ex. painting it gold or so.
Like they do with broken bonsaipots.
