Chinese White pine

Hi

Has anyone ever tried a Chinese White pine pinus armandii as a Bonsai?
I picked it up for virtually nothing so thought if nothing else it will look nice in the garden
Any sensible advice is appreciated

Im still a beginner in bonsai, but all I would say is you should plant it out in the garden, since its so young. Let it fatten up for some years so it can get some more age.

I know nothing about this species, and very little about pines in general, but it appears that this one doesn't want to backbud. try pruning selected branches down to just a couple of needles and see if it promotes any budding farther down the branch. You probably shouldn't do this now, though.

I am going to put it in the ground for a couple of years and treat it the same as a Japanese White pine the needles might be a bit longer but it might look ok

I bought a chinese white pine last week. How is your chinese white pine doing. I hope you can tell me the do and don't abaout this plant.
