Re: my Dan-seki
Hi Omar... I would consider classifying the shape as sandan doha-ishi ("3-step slope stone"). The top step of a dan-seki should be flat. There is a stone of related contour stone in the Japanese text Suiseki: Art Created by Nature (vol 1, p. 92) which is classified in this way. The distinction is imagining a peak above water terracing, which is imagined by stepped plateaus. I think there is another stone closer to the shape of yours classified as sandan doha-ishi in that 2-volume text series, but I couldn't quickly locate it.
We've discussed differences in slope/plateau & step/terrace stones previously on IBC... and it has been a recurring theme in California Aiseki Kai articles.

Thanks Chris for your chance at the forum.
I do not like discussions. because people then feel offended or felt.
better share my suiseki and stone, to enjoy the art of Suiseki.
