Chris
Did you take a photo of the pine that was 'Best in Show'???? mine didn't come out right. It was stuck at the other end of the row to the nice Elm in your picture

Re: Wessex Show 2011
Hi Chris,
What was also interesting was that some of the displays had trees that were clearly of an intermediate standard and therefore ones that I could relate to readily, being somewhat of a dabbling intermediate myself.
Good to see the clubs and organisers giving everyone a chance.
I'll check my pics to see if I have anything worth adding.
****************
btw I knew I should have snaffled that shohin juniper off the Wessex table the minute I saw it.
DOH!
The chap that bought it was going to place/plant? it in his Japanese style garden I believe, based on the conversation I had with him afterwards.
Thanks for the deal on the 2 larch yamadori out of the back of the van btw. Your Euro to GBP exchange rate was very generous

Hi Rob, I don't think that the owner (whom I know.... Robert) frequents IBC, but I am pretty sure having seen this lovely stand at the show it is a "modern" Japanese one. Lovely quality. Quince wood ?

Re: Wessex Show 2011
Hi Rob,
I've mailed at Eastleigh BS (whose display this was) to see if he can shed any light on the stand but I do believe this is a stock item at what was a local bonsai outlet near Southampton.
Now closed but still at Newbury and Birmingham
This is the same stand n'est-ce pas?
