A couple progress updates of collected trees
I've been working on these for a couple of years now. Both are still in training pots for another year.
Before and then now. Its been a little less than 2 growing seasons. The nice thing about this winged elm, is that it has great bark but really small "wings" on the branches. The buds are also very small, and the leaves reduce quickly after some defoliating.
Here's the next one...I am still carving this one. Also, a close up of the awesome bark on this tree.
I also grow a few cork bark elms. the 1st photo is what they look like a season after I chop them, the 2nd pho is a different tree, but a couple of seasons further along....Its still in a training pot and not quite perfect. They are super fun trees.
