Hello peter,
lookin' good!
massive short trunk with some movement.
Could you do the moss away so we maybe could see more of the nebari? And maybe you could make pictures of the other sides?
Best regards,
Yannick

Re: A new shohin tree UPDATE
Why do you waste your time with such silly little trees Peter?? You know it would look better on my benches
Having seen this tree first hand (and not having it donated to the House of Monkey) it's a little stunner and with this and the Mugo I'm begining to get very green with envy. Do keep us posted with the progress and I agree with Yanick, lose the moss, it won't help you long term.
Until the next time we meet my friend,
Love, Peace & Bananas,
Simon

Looks very good Peter. Branches placed well, and very good taper. I think you have to remove the deadwood completely to heal the wound over time, or hollow it out and carve it so it look more natural (Personally I prefer the deadwood solution). I think a Kevin Wilson deadwood-style-carving will justify it.

I like this species very much. I had one but it died after winter. I had it for 4yrs. It looks verry good and it blooms sweet.

Is the colour not the one you wanted?.....Last year you said white, and this is what this tree is.
In january you prefered a tree with white and red flowers...I will buy you one in december.
Kind regards Yvonne

Hi Bolas
Your design-idea is not bad at all, it could be cool. I did not think about that.
I will be interesting to see what Peter wants to do with the tree....I have never seen prunus mume flowers in this collour, are they mume?.
( I like your dog)
Kind regards Yvonne
