bald cypress fusion
Does anyone have any opinion on whether bald cypress seedlings can be fused to form a single trunk (similar to what doug phillips has done with tridents). Or at least do you think it is possible to pull off acceptable looking grafts of bald cypress seedlings to already existing trunks to improve the nebari?
thanks

Re: bald cypress fusion
Plant them in the ground and the nebari will take care of itself in a very few years.
That said, most any woody plants can be fused if you work at it. Whether the results look decent in any less time than planting it in the ground, is up in the air.
In the park where I walk every morning (except this snowy-sleety one!) we have a natural fusion of a pair of large trees of different species. If I remember, I'll get a picture some day. The problem is remembering.
