The ugly duckling

This Larch has hung about and been overlooked for a few years now, so it was time to see if it could become anything.

It has a good trunk and great bark and that was the reason for collecting it some 3 or 4 years ago
As always it's a case of looking for the best front and this involves taking into consideration the Nebari, branch placement, re angling etc.

Having decided which way to go I started work. After wiring the branches were placed to give the image I wanted and the tree was re potted into a mica training pot.


The outline work was now undertaken on the future shari, this gives the perception of taper and lightens the trunk line, detailed work on this feature will take place later
