Acer campestre (2007)
Hi all.
The maple I bought in October 2007 in the garden nursery, about 2.5 m high.
Construction of the tree is not perfect, but I am pleased with developments.
The main colors in the fall.

The taper is great and the canopy has filled in well. How are the chop scars coming?

That you have created good tree of a graft of fish-pond ... a question. The branch that these leaving him to grow in the nevari, is a part of the design or for some another reason ...? Congratulations for this evolution regards from españa

Re: Acer campestre (2007)
That is a wonderful transformation and development. Since we cant see the back side, what is the purpose or the intention of that lowest branch near the base?

Hi Luc
Thank you for nice coments.
Originally a branch for the new root. yet I left the branch as a small bush. When the ramp is sufficiently strong root, probably cuts off.

Acer campestre is great to work with.
Is it correct that you did a threadgraft and used both sides of the same graftbranch as a new root?

Re: Acer campestre (2007)
Hi Sunip
I used a branch from the trunk base of the bud. Young branch bends well. Then-layer to the substrate.

Re: Acer campestre (2007)
Hello Pavel,
Did you used only spagnum on the soil and around the branch to let it root?
How long took it to root?

Hi Sunip
Yes, a little sphagnum. Hook the wire snapped into the substrate. It took one growing season.

Re: Acer campestre (2007)
Very nice transformation Pavel.
The trunk looks like a Buddha to me.
It will make a very nice Acer campestre in years to come.
I have two of them in my collection, one is on a rock and the other is Acer campestre "compacta", it only grows about 3" per year.
Again, nice tree.
