Rock Planting. Which front is better?

I am about to exhibit this clerodendron planting and am wondering which front you think is better and why.

OK... as you can see there are no images only the names of the files. How do you attach an image?
I clicked on the image icon... there was no request to search for the file so I copied and pasted the files in the provided box. That was the only way I could think of doing it. That didn't work. What do I do?

Please read the Posting Images sticky in Testing. You can't upload to the board direct from your PC, it has to be hosted.

Thank You for your efforts in trying to provide an alternative/temporary site to the old IBC. It is sorely missed. However I guess i'll have to pass on posting photos until a more direct approach is available. Meanwhile i'll still stop in for a read.

Whoa. Don't give up yet. You can post a pic that is on your computer. It just takes a couple of additional steps. Kev tells all in the testing forum.

Here goes again...

Finally Success ... Dumb-wits like me should not be allowed near a computer. What I did was choose the centre url option and paste it into the message, but then I had to double click on it (Mac) to get the actual photo to show.

Back to the orig. reason for posting. Which position of the bigger rock is best? It has been rotated in the second photo. The little rocks would be better with the smaller one behind.

Hi Art, I like the second one better, the trees are closer to the rock and the view at the top of the rock seems better to me.
I think that both are very pleasing though.

I agree with you but was doubting myself. The main rock in the first one seems to have a reverse taper which I find unsettling but I prefer the shape of the bottom left tree in this position. When it is rotated the rock seems more stable and the bottom right tree hugs the rock better. The overall composition seems to have a better movement to the right.
The reason I ask here was that I posted this question on another site and the first position was preferred.

Very glad you sussed it out Art. That's a really good planting. I prefer the right hand one too. It could be improved with some tweaking of the lower left hand tree to create a better view of the trunk and tighten the canopy.

VERY nice! I think the right-hand image is a bit better, too. On both, I'd like to see a little more separation between the big rock and the others.

WOW, that is so easy!

The right hand one appears better, the position of the trees at the top, and the angle of rocks, etc.
