Since it's quiet...

Since it's reasonably quiet on here in recent days, I thought I would do my bit and add a few pics.

This is a little Shohin Maple I got this year. It would appear to gave grown over a rock at one point but it has all but swallowed it whole. I'm going to have to do some work to sort out the uro as it's rotting away on the inside.

Hello Ian. Lovely little Maple. Can you see the rock through the uro? As long as the water has somewhere to drain out, I wouldn't be too worried about the core of the tree rotting. Like the pot too.

Looks like a good spot for a little hobbit door.

Thanks. Can't really see just how big the rock is. Looking forward to repotting it in the Spring and having a good look from underneath. It's holding water at the moment. During the repot I'll make arrangements for the water to drain

if it were my tree, il just drill it from the hole above down to the bottom...nice little tree. it got an ancient look with the rock in it, it will be just "another" tree without the rock.
