Re: Some of my pots......
Because of the obvious craftsmanship that is evident in this thread and the informative followup by Peter, I feel that the IBC is gaining merit in the forefront of today's bonsai pottery!
It is great to see a progression, intended or not, of how current and traditional pottery trends(styles) are used, modified, and presented. We can see traditions being used and molded into new directions. We can discuss what we like about pieces and debate, with imput from both the potters and bonsai artists themselves.
Now here is a worthy forum WITHOUT all the trash talk and political ramblings.
Thanks for bringing the IBC back on the map Kev

Beautiful Works!!!
Wow! Your pots are beautiful, and would look awesome with any bonsai tree! Do you sell your pots, and if so do you have more information you can give me to purchase some of your works? Thank you, Jason (JaAugie)

@Peter
Thank you Peter...its always nice that there's someone with the right and real knowledge!!!the second from the bottom pot is in typical Chinese style.
I like this form of pot.
Here is an example of a drawing from the "Gothaer album"
@Rob
I'm with you !!!! I'm inspired everytime I see different works of other potters or have a chat with an bonsaiartist. We can discuss what we like about pieces and debate, with imput from both the potters and bonsai artists themselves.

very very beautiful, i would like take up pottery as well, but do i hav to hav a kiln to do it ?

Re: Some of my pots......
Sixhunter, yes a kiln is required, although you don't necessarily need to own your own kiln. I don't know what is available in Singapore, but in the U.S. one can generally find a studio that gives lessons and that will fire your work for a fee.

Hello Russell
We are both well and hope you are fine, too, thank you very much for asking! And it’s also very nice and kind to ask for my work!
YES WELL ....my pots......I hope I will be able to show some pots till the end of this year.
We moved home last autumn and there was so much work to do. Inside the new house....half a renovation.....In the garden...some tons of earth have been moved. A good and usefull workshop was build from a simple wooden roof above pure earth...with insolation , windows ..so on... .
Thats ready now....a nice place to work with any kind of wood, stone , bonsai, clay, glaze ....and all that under natural light.
So thats where the kiln will be set up!
Still the cable for he power electricity must be digged into the ground.
Additionally we now have a new companion....a little labrador.....
and she really needs her time!!!!
So you will understand that there wasn’t much time for the clay.....especially as I can not enjoy the work under pressure....I’m not able to find the pots performance in itself than.
BUT...a few have been made so far....waiting for the kiln.....
...always the nose on ground....not sure if it can be developed for yamadori....
....and a glimpse under the roof.
Kind regards
Klaudia

Re: Some of my pots......
Hello together
Nearly 2 years ago we had fired our last kiln and now we are very glad to start again.
Lots of work has been done and efforts made to set up a new home and workingspace.
SO…..WE ARE BACK INTO FUN NOW…….
All greenware has been fired, glazed and fired again the last weeks……a little fatiguing….
but a christmas every 3 days with the opening of a fired kiln!
I like to share my new pots with you and will start with some accentpots…..I hope you like it!
Kind regards
Klaudia

Re: Some of my pots......
G'day Klaudia...
Wonderful pots...displaying artisry and skill.
A difficult task...selecting a favorite...I like them all, however, I would select 1 & 6.
You said "...Number 4 is 25 x 19 x 4,5 cm...Number 6 is 22,5 x 15 x 3,5 cm...Sorry, I'm no good in US sizes...". That's something of a problem over here as well.
The conversion would be (within 5/100")...#4 9.84" x 7.48" x 1.77"...#6 8.86" x 5.91" x 1.38". Conversion from centimeters to inches...centimeters/2.58 = inches.
Pat…mounted on my trusty stead, riding off wildly in all directions

Hi Klaudia,
Nice work. I like your glazes. I'll bet it feels good to get back to making pots after all the remodelling and yard work.

Re: Some of my pots......
Hello you two,
It has even used some time before you could burn again,
But just as it is, what takes a long time is finally good,
and in your case, it is really turned out well.
They are beautiful little Minis, and each individual will have no trouble finding the tree for life.
Best regards
Peter

I really like that idea!
Just a bit of "Damage" gives them a nice rustic look.
A couple of them remind me of the damage that squirrels have done to my Mica pots with their teeth!
