Anyone got an iPad Yet

Has anyone bought and iPad yet and if so whats the verdict? I had a play with one the other day and I am really trying hard to justify why I want one, even though they are very nice. I am an Apple lover at heart after I converted from pc over 2 years ago, once you go mac you don't go back

Where fancy-dan gadgets are concerned the concept of "needing" one has never really entered into my considerations.

My sister's pal has just bought one and he came round to show it off to her last weekend. I deliberately stayed away just in case the now only too familiar cravings emerged. He seems to think it justifies all cost and he knows what he's talking about with these things.

Sort out those pesky angels and demons currently perched on your shoulders.

Seriously though Tony how often do you think you will, or do, use it? I know its not intended as a replacement for a pc or laptop. Also what data plan did you get for the 3G and what provider

Hi Andy, the Ipad is primarily about consumption and not creation. fantastic when you are mobile, amazing 'instant' start up. I have £10 per month 1 gig download with O2

I'm with Will, what the ????. Is this really essential. Crikey I have a phone that does all-sorts ( I use it for calls) Two computers...which all equates to more than enough for I.

I have had one for about a month now...in fact I am posting from it right now! Tony is correct when he says its about consumption. So far ours gets used several hours a day. The wife is on her third book, I surf with it mainly. Mine is only wifi but it went with us this past weekend to Memphis for Brussel's get together and proved very helpful with maps and finding things to do. Its comfortable to hold and I love just using my fingers to navigate. So far it seems to get killer battery life and you could not ask for better resolution. I have been using an iPod Touch for close to three years now and the iPad is a completely different animal. I could see it as a great device for people that aren't that tech friendly but unfortunately you pretty much have to have a computer to use it.

Being a fully paid up member of the Luddite Brotherhood and Temperance Society, I can see absolutely no situation where my life would be enhanced by one of these gadgets.

My wife got an iPhone a few weeks ago and took it back after less than a week. It was awkward to use and didn't have half the features her old steam powered phone had. Well, it did, but you had to buy the apps to do it.
