repotted yesterday, slightly different angle, and I am now wondering if the lower right branch is a bit redundant. I didn't pot it properly either, so the front is slightly out of line with the pot.

Nothing wrong with this tree at all Bobby. Branches are fine. I think you ought to repot it to get the front right though.

I agree the branches are fine, though if I were considering removing one it would've been the left one?

If the second photo is your proposed front, you have a problem root that will also need sorting at repotting. It need to be bent so that it isn't pointing straight at the viewer. Larch roots can be quite malleable even when reasonably thick, as they are very "fleshy", so it may bend enough with some thick wire. If not, cut a nick in the back side of it and bend to close the wound. It should soon heal.
